The Re­port of the Com­mit­tee on Tourism, Trade and In­dus­try on the Mo­tion for re­con­sid­er­a­tion of the Sugar Bill, 2015 as re­turned by H.E the Pres­i­dent was pre­sented by Hon. Robert Ka­sule. The Mi­nor­ity Re­port was also pre­sented by Hon. Babirye Mary (Woman Rep. Masaka). How­ever, the Speaker de­ferred de­bate on the Mo­tion to Tues­day 30th April 2019 to give MPs enough time to read and in­ter­nalise the re­ports.

Hon. Lamwaka Mar­garet, Kit­gum Dis­trict Woman MP, raised a mat­ter of na­tional im­por­tance to the non-al­lo­ca­tion of funds for com­bat­ting Nod­ding Dis­ease Syn­drome in Noth­ern Uganda in the bud­get es­ti­mates of the Min­istry of Health for the FY 2019/​20. The Min­is­ter of State for Health (Pri­mary Health Care) Hon. Moriku Joyce Ka­ducu in­formed the House that funds would be al­lo­cated dur­ing the FY 2020/​2021.

The House passed a Res­o­lu­tion au­tho­riz­ing Gov­ern­ment to bor­row up to USD 104.0 Mil­lion from Stan­dard Char­tered Bank to fi­nance the Na­tional CCTV Net­work Ex­pan­sion Pro­ject.  Hon. Latif Sse­ba­gala said se­cu­rity is para­mount and wished that the CCTV cam­era in­stal­la­tion on the streets had come much ear­lier. He re­quested that close to 400 cam­eras that are in­stalled but not func­tional should be worked on.
